“Dear Georgia, We usually use this book with children who are actually going to be at a birth. But you had such good questions when we were looking at my books in the Fall that I thought you might enjoy this one” Carol the Midwife, 1996

The Basics

I have been fascinated by birth and birth work from a young age. The above was written on the front page of an illustrated children’s book detailing the journey of pregnancy and labor gifted to me by my mother’s close friend, a midwife, after we had a question-filled conversation about the miracle of birth. I was five. This curiosity and wonder has stayed with me all my life, and I completed the Postpartum Doula Training from Natural Resources in San Francisco in December of 2022 and am currently finishing my certification requirements.

I have over a decade of experience with caregiving, home-tending, and providing logistical and emotional support for parents and families. I worked as a nanny periodically for infants and young children since 2010, and as a mother’s helper during many of my friend’s postpartum periods, from 2011 until the present. I aim to create a kind, compassionate, and holistic container for processing the joys and challenges that arise during the transition into parenthood (or the transition into a multi-child family) that is uniquely tailored to the needs of my clients. I engage the spectrum of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health of the birthing parent and household. I always allow the clients to guide our journey and honor their engagement with the parts of my services that feel best suited for them.

I offer balanced and nutritional postpartum centered meal prep & cooking, light housekeeping, grocery shopping, some sibling care, support during feeding and sleep cycles, general lactation and sleep support and emotional support and resources for birthing and non-birthing parents. I also offer space to emotionally, physically and potentially spiritually process a client's birth experience and intuitive ritual work around integration and release of any emotional and/or energetic residue from their experience. I am pursuing my level 1 Reiki training and postpartum massage training.

My Rates

My rate is $55/hr, $65/hr for twins. I do offer sliding scale rates on an individual basis, please reach out individually if you are interested in learning more.

Positionality and Commitment to My Communities

I am a white queer abolitionist, born, raised, and currently living in the Mission District of San Francisco. I am honored to serve the beautifully diverse demographics of the Bay Area, and am committed to providing high quality and compassionate postpartum care that is so often not accessible for low-income/working class, immigrant, BIPOC, and/or LGBTQ+ families in my community, who are commonly unrepresented in birthwork and reproductive justice work. Please feel free to inquire about sliding scales services, as I am always happy to offer them when I can, and especially while I complete my certification requirements. Please see the graphic on my homepage to better understand where to place yourself on this scale. I lovingly encourage self awareness and honesty as the best policy: paying the highest tier you comfortably can, allows me to offer my services to those who otherwise wouldn’t be able to access postpartum doula care. Love and solidarity to all those in the joy of togetherness and in the struggle against systemic violence and oppression <3

The Juicy Bits

I recently finished my Masters in Gender, Women, Spirituality and Social Justice from The California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco, CA. In my academic, spiritual, and social justice work, I am committed to reclaiming the experiences and knowledge present in our lineages and the traditions of our ancestors. My work in graduate school focused mostly on the global history of Colonization and its current manifestations, as well as the complex processes of Decolonization, with a lens of our relationships to The Goddess and the Earth. I also focus on the experience of European women prior to and during the European Witch Hunts of the 1400-1700s in relation to the study of trauma, epigenetics and white women's historical and current role in upholding White Supremacy and Heteropatriarchy. I am fascinated by the transformative power present within the intersections of Spiritual Activism, Mothering as radical praxis, ritualized ancestral healing, eco-justice, art as activism, and Somatic Abolitionism (Resmaa Menekeem).
